    Dear Friends, We need your help. Politicians in Washington are trying to ram through the reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).   Under the cover of FISA Section 702, the federal government has spent years surveilling the email data, phone records, and text messages of Asian Americans without obtaining a warrant first.    This is a blatant violation of our privacy rights and civil liberties — and if congressional leadership is successful in reauthorizing Section 702 as part of the NDAA — it could lead to racial profiling and discrimination of communities of color across the United States.    Yesterday afternoon, our coalition — and 90+ civil rights and racial justice organizations — sent a letter to the U.S. Congress, calling on them to oppose the reauthorization of this dangerous policy without comprehensive reforms.
