  Dear AAPI Friends, Our hearts break for all those in Hawai’i impacted by the ongoing wildfires, which have claimed at least 55 lives and displaced thousands. While first responders continue to search through the wreckage and stop the fires fueled by the dry summer and hurricane-force winds, there is widespread destruction and displacement.   The town of Lahaina, Maui, has been virtually wiped out, with the blaze taking countless homes, community spaces, businesses, and landmarks like Lahaina’s banyan tree. The harm extends beyond the physical — communities also deal with shocking historical, cultural, and economic losses.    We send strength and extend our deepest condolences to the victims who are grappling with the devastating loss of life, livelihood, and security.           Dear Community Partners,    We are excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for our  Fall 2023 Youth Leadership Summit ! The deadline to  apply  is on Friday, August 28.    Our annual Youth Leadership Summit will take place virtually from September 25 - September 29.
