UNITY MARCH 06.25.2022 Washington DC!!

 We are just 11 days out from the UNITY MARCH, the first-ever, Asian American-led March on the Mall taking place on Saturday, June 25th on the National Mall in Washington, DC. 

 

After the tragic shootings in Atlanta and Indianapolis last year, Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, six other national Asian American groups, and our allies at National Action Network and Arab American Institute, began organizing this collective action. The goal of the Unity March is to demand full rights and representation for BIPOC communities. With it, we aim to:

• Bring new people into the movement for racial and economic justice;
• Demonstrate our collective strength as Asian Americans and allies;
• And reiterate our commitment to building cross-racial, intersectional people power in the long term. 

Register for the Unity March on Mobilize. Our full list of partners, including over 50 organizations, can be found here. They intentionally represent a full spectrum of allies, from LGBTQIA+ and disability communities, to interfaith and of course, BIPOC allies of all backgrounds. 

 

For this historic event, turnout is absolutely critical. A large showing will signal to policymakers, funders, and allies that the Asian American movement is ready to put in the work for collective liberation. We need every person – Asian Americans AND allies – to be there on the National Mall on June 25. We are asking for your presence at this event, and to help to amplify this message.

Mobilize groups to attend. Organizers are chartering buses from various East Coast metro regions to make it easier for our friends within driving distance to participate in the Unity March on June 25, 2022 (see below for background). For those who have affiliates or members in NYC, NJ, Philadelphia, and Raleigh/Durham, NC:

• Fill out this form once you have a sense of how many people from your organization would join if we can provide bus transportation to DC. Buses will leave early morning and arrive in Washington DC by 11:30 am.  The Unity March activities are scheduled from 12 Noon - 3 PM.  The buses will leave DC late afternoon so you can arrive back home that same evening.
