2022 UCA National Youth Convention and Scholarships

Dear UCA members, friends, and community and youth organization leaders,

This is an exciting time for our youth! UCA is proud to announce that UCA National Youth Convention Scholarships will be granted to 50 middle, high school, and college students who would attend 2022 UCA National Youth Convention, to be held in conjunction with 2022 Chinese American Convention, from July 14-16 in Washington DC.

Youth are our future. These students will be the center and star of the UCA National Youth Convention program. They will leave with much-needed experiences and lasting memories. We hope you can help us identify civically engaged Chinese American youth, spread the word, and encourage them to apply for the scholarships as soon as possible.

The inaugural UCA National Youth Convention will be a place for Chinese American and AAPI youth to meet, inspire each other, build friendships, and learn from leaders and experts. Through speakers and panelists, showcase and exhibitions, discussions, and dialogues, the Convention will empower civically minded youth to strengthen their own identity, expand their network and showcase their high-impact civic engagement and community service projects.

To lower the financial barrier for students, UCA will provide 50 Scholarships of $200/person to support those students who meet the requirements. We will continue our fundraising effort in order to secure more scholarship funding. We believe no one should be limited by their financial circumstances, especially those in need. These scholarships will be provided on a first come first serve basis, with deadline on June 15. For more information about UCA National Youth Convention and how to apply for the scholarships, please refer to the attached PDF document. Thank you.

If you have any questions, please contact Hong Qi, Operations Director of UCA at Hong.qi@ucausa.org

Three Congressional Members as Confirmed Speakers

We are thrilled to announce that Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27), Congresswoman Grace Meng (NY-6) and Congressman Ted Lieu (CA-33) have all been confirmed to speak at the 2022 Chinese American Convention.

We salute the important work these members of Congress are doing not only for the AAPI community, but for all Americans in the areas of pandemic relief, economic stimulus, anti-hate crime legislation and promoting AAPI culture and inclusion.

We can't wait to meet them again in person, hear about their legislative achievements over the past few years, and be inspired by their extraordinary leadership.
