  2024 Chinese American Convention News Bulletin #3   A 3K Walk of Civil Rights for All on June 30th UCA is working with other national civil rights organizations to organize a 3K Walk on the National Mall to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, with a rally in front of the majestic Lincoln Memorial on the morning of Sunday, June 30th. Note: in requesting permit wiht the Park Services It will be an exciting event as the finale for our 2024 Chinese American Convention, themed "Embracing The Civil Rights Movement of Our Time." Enacted on July 2, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law an act that would change the dynamic of America forever.  The Civil Rights Act of 1964  ended legal segregation in public places and made discrimination illegal.
